Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. There is some controversy about how much is due to the ozone hole versus the Aussie habit of sunbathing excessively, but there is no question that it is smart to protect yourself from the sun's UV rays, which can cause skin cancer and cataracts with extended exposure.
