2005 July 2
C-3PO and R2-D2 on Tatooine.
Was the Australian Outback used to film the Tatooine sequences for Star Wars?

No - the Tatooine sequences were shot in Tunisia. Most of the "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith," however, were filmed in Sydney! All of the footage shot in Australia was taken within a studio, and most in front of blue/green/purple screens. Portions of these movies were also shot in seven other countries: England, Switzerland, Thailand, Italy, Spain, Guatemala and China.
